Making Medicinal Teas

There's something magical in the practice of brewing a cup of tea. As hot water infuses with the herbs, invigorating aromas ascend from a steaming cup, lifting your mind and spirit. It is a wonderful way to reflect on the simple joy of nourishing yourself.

There is an art to herbal infusions and tea making. A process to ensure that you are receiving all the beneficial phytonutrients within these blends. Each ingredient contains a multitude of nutrients waiting to be released.

I often brew several servings at a time. It may be a full kettle of hot tea or a carafe to cool and store in the refrigerator. Try this method for a refreshing drink you can sip on throughout a sunny summer's day.

For a single serving of tea

  • Boil a kettle of water.
  • Measure one teaspoon of loose tea into a tea infuser.
  • Pour 8oz of hot water over your prepared herbal tea & cover.
  • Let the water infuse with the tea for at least 10 minutes. This is an important step. It guarantees that the spectrum of nutritional contents are extracted.
  • Once the brewing is complete, let your tea compliment your day! Enjoy it hot or served over ice. Add honey or enjoy the natural flavors of the tea alone.
